House League
The Jr. Drillers program gives young hockey players the opportunity to continue developing their skills in a fun, competitive, and supportive environment. Players will participate in weekly practices, scrimmages, and games throughout the season while continuing to build their skating, hockey skills, teamwork, and game knowledge. Our goal is to help every player grow their confidence and love for the game while preparing them for the next level of hockey.
Ages
The Jr. Drillers program is open to ages 5–16. Players should have basic skating skills or have completed a Learn to Play program. Players may be grouped by age and skill level to provide the best development experience.
When
The 2026–2027 Jr. Drillers season runs from October through February. March is TBD.
Where
Practices, scrimmages, and home games are held at Planet Ice Rink in Lafayette, Louisiana. Jr. Drillers may also travel to other rinks for games and tournaments throughout the season.
Practices
Practices are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00–7:00 PM at Planet Ice.
Additional practices or schedule adjustments may be added throughout the season as needed.
Games
When we have scrimmages, they are typically held on Saturday mornings from 9:00–11:00 AM.
Games will be played on weekends, typically Saturdays and Sundays. Game dates and times will vary throughout the season, and the full schedule will be provided as it is finalized.
Jerseys
Jersey and hockey socks are provided with your registration fee.
Extra Costs
Additional costs may include USA Hockey registration, hockey equipment, travel expenses for out of town tournaments, and other team-related expenses throughout the season. LAHA has a limited amount of equipment available to loan with a $100 deposit; however, families are encouraged to purchase their own equipment when possible. Families may also be asked to participate in LAHA volunteer and fundraising activities. Additional details and requirements will be provided to registered families.

Youth Hockey Program Goals: The goal of this program is to develop ice hockey skills in kids between the ages of 6-16 in a fun and safe environment. With a combination of practices on ice, off ice training, and games, our program will help kids develop their skills in a motivating and positive atmosphere. We will utilize USA Hockey developmental programs and professional instructors to maximize the progress of each child.
